Mediterranean coastal communities are increasingly exposed to the effects of climate change, including rising sea temperatures, biodiversity loss, invasive species, and more frequent extreme weather events. These pressures threaten local economies, ecosystems, and food security, especially in areas dependent on fisheries and tourism. The project aims to enhance the adaptive capacity of Mediterranean coastal communities to climate change by focusing on ecosystem resilience and sustainable management of marine resources. This initiative involves a transnational consortium of environmental NGOs, universities, and research institutions from Italy, Türkiye, Jordan, and Tunisia. The activities address, through demonstrated solutions and tested pilot actions, various aspects of climate change adaptation such as the management of invasive species, restoration of specific marine ecosystems, and development of local climate adaptation tools.
