About – Sustainability Model for Accommodation MSMEs

The project addresses the urgent need for sustainable transformation in the tourism sector by supporting accommodation MSMEs, which often lack the resources and know-how to adopt sustainability practices. It introduces the Simplified Sustainability Model for Accommodation (SSMA) and the AI Recommendation Tool (AIRET) to help these businesses navigate complex sustainability standards. Through awareness, training, pilot testing, and policy recommendations, the project aims to make sustainability accessible, cost-effective, and actionable, benefiting the tourism sector MSMEs, their staff, policymakers, tourists, and local communities in 5 Mediterranean countries (Greece, Egypt, Spain, Tunisia and Türkiye).
