The textile and fashion industry is known for its significant environmental footprint, ranking among the top sectors for negative life cycle impacts, water & land use, raw material consumption & greenhouse gas emissions. This environmental toll is felt throughout the value chain, but the design phase is especially crucial as it sets the stage for all subsequent impacts.
The project will tackle this design phase and equip the fashion industry, particularly SMEs, with the tools, knowledge & awareness needed to adopt circular practices & meet the EU’s high standards on circularity & emerging market trends.
One of the main outputs, the Circular Fashion Design Toolbox, will provide innovative solutions focused on 3 strategic areas: resources (water & energy), materials & digitalization.
