About – Connecting LOcal proximity networks Sustaining participatory govERnance

CLOSER addresses the urgent need for stronger social services in rural and remote Mediterranean areas by creating and training local “proximity networks” that bring together community actors and public authorities. These networks will co-design and deliver social services tailored to real local needs. The project promotes participatory governance, empowering stakeholders to shape inclusive, transparent, and effective solutions. Pilots across diverse territories in Greece, Italy, Jordan, Lebanon, Palestine and Spain will test a shared governance model that strengthens cooperation, improves access to services, and enhances wellbeing and social cohesion in underserved areas.
