Background

The CAREMED – Community-based Approach for Resilient Mediterranean Health project (A_T_3.2_0066), funded under the Interreg NEXT MED 2021–2027 Programme, aims to strengthen the capacity of healthcare systems in the Mediterranean area to address the growing burden of chronic diseases by enhancing territorial and community-based healthcare services.

The project promotes the exchange of best practices among international partners, training and capacity-building activities for healthcare professionals, as well as pilot interventions to improve primary healthcare services in the involved areas.

Coordinated by Meyer University Hospital IRCCS, acting as Lead Partner, CAREMED involves healthcare and academic institutions from several Mediterranean countries and will run for 36 months (14 October 2025 – 14 October 2028).

Scope of the Assignment

The purpose of this notice is the appointment of a full-time Project Manager to support the Global Health Center of AOU Meyer IRCCS in the technical-organizational coordination and monitoring of CAREMED project activities.

By way of example and not limited to, the assignment includes:

  • operational coordination of the project and support to the Lead Partner in overall implementation (activity planning, deadline management, monitoring of technical progress);
  • management and facilitation of relations with the relevant Programme structures/authorities, preparing technical contributions and required documentation;
  • support for reporting activities (technical and, where relevant, financial/procedural), including document management and collaboration in collecting evidence from partners;
  • use and operational management of activities related to the JeMS electronic monitoring system, within the Project Manager’s area of responsibility (input/updating project information, supporting reporting deadlines and verification procedures);
  • coordination and facilitation of the transnational partnership (meetings, minutes, follow-up activities, issue management);
  • support for meetings/events and missions related to project activities, including participation in technical meetings in Italy and partner countries.

Candidates must meet the following requirements by the application deadline.

General Requirements

  • Italian citizenship or citizenship of another EU Member State (or equivalent status under current legislation);
  • full enjoyment of civil and political rights;
  • no criminal convictions and/or proceedings that would prevent, under current legislation, entering into contracts with the Public Administration;
  • eligibility to contract with the Public Administration.

Educational Requirements

A Master’s degree / Specialist degree or an equivalent degree obtained under the previous university system, as well as any equivalent qualification, in disciplines consistent with project management and international cooperation activities in the project’s field, particularly in:

  • Political Science and International Relations
  • Economics
  • Law
  • Public Administration Sciences
  • Management Engineering
  • Nursing and Midwifery Sciences
  • Health Professions in Prevention Sciences
  • Biological Sciences
  • Biotechnology Sciences
  • Pharmacy

Professional Experience Requirements (Minimum)

  • at least 3 years of documented professional experience in project management or coordination roles on complex projects, preferably with an international component;
  • documented experience in managing/implementing projects funded by European Union programmes(Interreg/ETC or equivalent) or, alternatively, equivalent experience in structured programmes/projects with formalized reporting and monitoring systems;
  • availability for missions and travel related to project activities (including trips to project partner countries).

Technical Skills (Mandatory and Preferred)

  • mandatory: operational knowledge of key project management processes: scheduling, risk management, deliverables, partnership governance, and document management;
  • preferred: documented knowledge of the rules and tools of the Interreg NEXT MED Programme, including the Programme Implementation Manual (PIM) and reporting/monitoring processes;
  • preferred: experience or familiarity with electronic programme monitoring systems (particularly JeMS or similar systems).

Language Requirements

  • mandatory: knowledge of English at a minimum B2 CEFR level, demonstrated through certification, formal documentation, or proven professional experience in international contexts (the Selection Committee may verify this during the interview)
