About – Scaling-up advanced lentiviral (LV) and CAR-T academic production across the Mediterranean region

Chimeric Antigen Receptor T-cell therapy (CAR-T) is an immunotherapy used to treat certain cancers, yet access remains limited in many Mediterranean countries due to production bottlenecks and unequal infrastructure. MILenARI brings together partners from Spain, Italy, Lebanon, and Jordan to scale up the production of lentiviral vectors in Spain and transfer this technology to partner countries. The project supports the development of local CAR-T manufacturing facilities and training, ensuring equitable access to this advanced therapy. MILenARI strengthens healthcare innovation and cross-border collaboration, giving more patients a chance to receive cutting-edge cancer treatment.
