Under the YouthCARE4Planet project, a creative contest is launched to encourage young people across the Mediterranean to observe their environment, take action, and share their ideas for a more sustainable future.

The Mediterranean region is currently facing significant environmental challenges, including pollution, waste management issues, water scarcity, and the increasing impacts of climate change. Despite these challenges, young people are actively engaged in their communities and are emerging as key drivers of environmental action.

The YouthCARE4Planet Contest aims to give visibility to these initiatives and to amplify youth voices at local and regional levels.

Objectives of the contest

The initiative seeks to:

  • Raise awareness on environmental and climate challenges in the Mediterranean
  • Encourage youth-led environmental actions at local level
  • Provide a platform for creative expression and solution-sharing
  • Connect young people engaged in environmental protection
  • Showcase grassroots initiatives to a wider audience

What can be submitted

Participants are invited to submit original content reflecting their engagement with environmental issues, such as:

  • Short videos documenting actions or initiatives
  • Photo stories or visual narratives
  • Short articles or personal reflections
  • Interviews or testimonials

Examples include beach clean-ups, recycling initiatives, awareness campaigns, community discussions, or local environmental solutions.

Thematic focus:

Submissions may address topics such as:

  • Pollution and protection of coastal and public spaces
  • Waste management and recycling
  • Biodiversity conservation
  • Water preservation
  • Climate change
  • Youth-led environmental initiatives
  • Civic engagement for environmental protection

Who can participate:

The contest is open to:

  • Young people
  • Students
  • Activists
  • Associations
  • Informal youth groups

from Tunisia, Egypt, Italy, and Greece.

Participation may be individual or in teams.

Consent and responsibility

Participation requires the submission of a mandatory consent form

By submitting, participants confirm that:

  • They are fully responsible for the submitted content
  • COSPE and project partners are not responsible for the content shared
  • Consent has been obtained from all individuals appearing in photos or videos

Participants also authorize COSPE and project partners to use, publish, and share the submitted content for communication purposes, including social media, websites, reports, and promotional materials.

Submissions without a completed consent form will not be considered.
