A call for applications has been launched in Spain within the framework of the project WISEMED – MEDiterranean joint Water management and conservatIon SustainablE solutions, co-funded by the European Union under the Interreg NEXT MED Programme.
The call, promoted by the Centro de Edafología y Biología Aplicada del Segura (CEBAS-CSIC), aims to select farmers, members of producer organisations, agricultural companies and cooperatives to participate in project activities.
Selected beneficiaries will take part in information, awareness-raising and dissemination activities on innovative solutions for sustainable water management in agriculture, tested through pilot actions implemented by CEBAS-CSIC. These include agroecological approaches, advanced fertigation systems and Decision Support Systems for irrigation water management and mixing.
The WISEMED project promotes sustainable water management in Mediterranean agriculture by improving water-use efficiency, supporting the adoption of innovative irrigation techniques and the use of non-conventional water resources, while strengthening cooperation between farmers, technicians and institutions.
Information sessions (“Infodays”) will also be organised to present the project solutions and their technical, economic and environmental benefits.
