The Mediterranean faces complex challenges in water, energy, and food production while adapting to climate change. Coastal areas are affected by mass tourism, and local enterprises must navigate global competition and the demands of digital and green transitions. Despite these hurdles, the region thrives with motivated individuals dedicated to making it a better place.
Our new publication, “Voices of the Mediterranean,” shares 24 compelling stories of people who improved their daily lives, communities, and the environment thanks to the support of the EU-funded ENI CBC MED Programme. From better water usage and waste reduction to renewable energy adoption and cultural preservation, these stories showcase the transformative power of cooperation and resilience across the Mediterranean.
Discover the importance of bees for our ecosystems, the daily life of a fisherman, legislative-changing experiments, young entrepreneurs overcoming obstacles, and new ethical models for elderly care. These stories represent just a fraction of the initiatives funded by the ENI CBC MED Programme, yet they offer a glimpse into the potential for positive change in the region when creative, bright, and resilient individuals cooperate across borders.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to all the inspiring people who shared their stories. Enjoy reading them as much as we enjoyed writing them!
