The Union for the Mediterranean has launched a Grant Scheme aimed to support and increase the participation of SMEs, cooperatives, entrepreneurs, social enterprises, and business communities in e-commerce enabling them to export more though digital trade.
The call is open to relevant entities established in Algeria, Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Mauritania, Morocco, Palestine, and Tunisia with particular focus on business organizations led and operated by women.
The Grant Scheme intends to identify and address the challenges business organizations face in e-commerce in relation to the two following priorities:
1. Development of digital, technical, and managerial capacities to facilitate greater participation in e-commerce in the Southern Mediterranean.
2. Enhancing the participation in e-commerce of women-led enterprises, particularly those operating in rural areas.
Project activities may include, for example, incubation programs or training programs that build the capacity of SMEs in cross-border access to e-markets, critical business thinking, business operations, and finance, among others.
The overall indicative amount made available under this call for proposals is €1.2 million with grants comprised between a minimum of €150,000 and maximum of €300,000.
Applications shall be submitted in English by 28th of October 2024 at 15:00 (Barcelona time).
