On 4 December 2025, the İZQ Innovation Center Mediterranean in İzmir hosted a training session addressed to beneficiaries of the first call of the Interreg NEXT MED Programme. The event was particularly significant as it marked Türkiye’s first participation in the programme, representing an important step in its engagement in Mediterranean territorial cooperation.
The training brought together partners and beneficiaries of Interreg NEXT MED projects to strengthen their capacities for effective project implementation. Key topics included administrative and financial management, project monitoring and modifications, communication and visibility, public procurement, and the use of the JEMS system.

The Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change of Türkiye was represented by Mehtap Kumdakci Can and Enes Altındöven, partners of the SHAREN project. Their participation contributed to a deeper understanding of programme requirements and implementation responsibilities, supporting a more efficient and compliant delivery of project activities.
The session also involved institutional representatives and programme experts, who provided practical guidance and addressed beneficiaries’ questions. For SHAREN, this training further strengthens cooperation with Turkish partners and consolidates their integration into the Interreg NEXT MED framework, enhancing Mediterranean cooperation and knowledge exchange among participating territories.
