As part of the initial stakeholder engagement activities, the Palestine Polytechnic University (PPU), Palestinian partner of SIMMER, held a coordination meeting with representatives of the Palestinian Ministry of Agriculture on 17th March 2026.

As the partner responsible for developing the SIMMER Knowledge Hub—an initiative that will be established at the end of the project to sustain and manage ongoing training and capacity-building efforts—PPU plays a key role in ensuring the project’s long-term impact.

The meeting served to introduce the project’s objectives and explore opportunities for collaboration in forest management and wildfire prevention.

Discussions focused on identifying suitable locations for pilot implementation, as well as examining how forestry departments can contribute to wildfire risk reduction and improved land management practices. The exchange provided valuable insights into current environmental efforts and highlighted opportunities for stronger institutional cooperation within the framework of the project.
