Lebanon Reforestation Initiative (LRI) is partner on the SIMMER project along with 5 other organizations and is an associate partner on the MEDFIREWISE project.
Last week in Beirut, the Lebanon Reforestation Initiative (LRI), partner of SIMMER, participated in the official launch of the #InterregNEXTMED projects funded in Lebanon, held under the theme “Cooperating for a Resilient Mediterranean.”
The event brought together more than 200 participants, including Lebanese ministers, the European Union and Italian ambassadors, and key ecosystem actors, highlighting Lebanon’s active role in building a smarter, greener, and more inclusive Mediterranean region.
These discussions provided valuable insights and strengthened collaboration among project partners, national institutions, and regional stakeholders.
The programme also delivered a training session for beneficiaries of the 33 projects in Lebanon, reviewing key implementation rules to ensure effective project delivery.
Through its engagement, LRI reaffirmed its commitment to advancing climate resilience, sustainable land management, and community-based environmental solutions across Lebanon and the Mediterranean.
