Representatives of the ReTour project from Jordan University of Science and Technology (JUST) and SPECTO attended the launch of the Interreg NEXT MED training for winning projects from Jordan and Palestine.
During the event, the ReTour representatives presented the project’s key objectives and outlined its expected main achievements, highlighting its role in strengthening resilience and innovation in the Mediterranean tourism sector.
The selected initiatives demonstrated a strong regional commitment to climate action, green transition, and sustainable development, covering priority areas such as sustainable agriculture, tourism, health, circular economy, and sustainable maritime management.
In the opening session, the EU Ambassador reaffirmed the European Union’s commitment to enhanced cooperation across the Mediterranean in green energy, water management, resource efficiency, biodiversity conservation – including marine ecosystems – and climate resilience.
The event emphasized the importance of partnerships, inclusive governance, and knowledge exchange as key drivers for sustainable development in the region.
