Akdeniz University Successfully Completed Interreg NEXT Med Programme Implementation Training
On December 4, 2025, Akdeniz University participated in the “Project Implementation Training” organized within the scope of the “Interreg NEXT Med Programme,” carried out by the Directorate for EU Affairs in its capacity as the National Authority. In the training programme held in İzmir for Turkish beneficiaries who were entitled to receive grant support as a result of the first call for proposals of the programme, our university was represented by the PROTECHMED project it is currently carrying out. Assoc. Prof. Cihan Karaca and Fatma Nur Boz attended the event.
Within the scope of the said training, it was aimed to increase strategic synergy between institutions by performing detailed presentations of the supported projects. In this direction, potential cooperation grounds were created for the third call process expected to be opened in the later periods of the programme. In the technical sessions; the headings of financial management, procurement procedures, tax legislation, and corporate communication strategies, which constitute the cornerstones of project implementation processes, were handled meticulously, and technical criteria to be considered during the implementation phase were conveyed.
Another important agenda item of the event was the IVY (Interreg Volunteer Youth) programme, which allows young people to gain experience in cross-border cooperation projects. In this context, opportunities that will encourage the active participation of young researchers and students in the projects to be implemented in the upcoming period were emphasized.
Akdeniz University resolutely continues its efforts towards regional development and the expansion of academic cooperation networks with its active role in international projects.
