Interreg NEXT MED Programme officially marked the launch of its first wave of approved projects with a two-day training and networking event held in Bari, Italy, on 22 and 23 October 2025. The gathering brought together over 200 participants from across the Mediterranean to prepare for the exciting journey ahead.

Held at the Hotel Villa Romanazzi, the event combined thematic and practical training sessions for Lead Beneficiaries on key topics such as:
– Project implementation frameworks
– Financial management, monitoring and reporting
– Communication and visibility strategies
– Thematic clustering and exchange of good practices across regions

The agenda ensured that attendees could engage in hands-on workshops, peer exchanges, and networking opportunities aimed at building a solid foundation for cooperation and success.

Participants were welcomed by the Programme team and had the chance to meet representatives from supporting initiatives including Interreg TESIM NEXT, Interreg Volunteer Youth (IVY), and the Interact Programme whose expertise contributed to an engaging and impactful training experience.

But it wasnt all work! Participants also enjoyed interactive games and team-building activities that helped everyone get to know each other better. These lighter moments fostered a real sense of community, showing that cooperation is not only about projects and procedures its also about people.

Throughout the two days, the atmosphere was characterised by enthusiasm, cooperation, and a shared commitment to making the Mediterranean region smarter, greener, and more inclusive.

As we embark on the next phase of implementation, we would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to all participants Lead Partners, trainers, experts, and supporting teams for their commitment and active engagement.

Looking forward, we wish all participating projects every success in their implementation. May the connections made in Bari grow into fruitful collaborations, and may the knowledge gained fuel impactful outcomes across the Mediterranean.
