An-Najah National University (ANNU), Palestine – partner of the EONANOBIOPS project (Essential Oil-derived Next generation Nano-Biopesticides for Sustainable Eco-Friendly Agriculture) – is seeking a Technical Research Assistant to support laboratory, greenhouse, and field operations, with a particular focus on tomato cultivation as a model vegetable crop.
The EONANOBIOPS project, co-funded by the European Union under the Interreg NEXT MED Programme, aims to develop next-generation nano-biopesticides derived from essential oils to promote sustainable and eco-friendly agriculture in the Mediterranean.
The Technical Research Assistant will assist in preparing and testing essential oil-based and nano-formulated biopesticides, conduct laboratory and greenhouse bioassays targeting tomato pests, and participate in field trials. Responsibilities include collecting and analyzing samples, maintaining laboratory equipment, organizing experimental data, and supporting trainings and project events.
Candidates should hold a degree in Agriculture, Biotechnology, or a related discipline, with experience in laboratory or greenhouse settings. Familiarity with bioassay methods, essential oil extraction, and safe pesticide handling is required. A willingness to conduct fieldwork under variable conditions, proficiency in data management tools (Excel), and strong organizational and communication skills are essential. Fluency in English and Arabic (spoken and written) is mandatory.
Location: ANNU Headquarters – Nablus (with possible travel to field sites)
Contract: Full-time, 12 months (renewable)
