Representatives of the Lebanese partners in the EUSEEDS project took part in the Interreg NEXT MED launch event gathering newly approved projects in Lebanon, held on 10 February 2026 in Beirut.
The event, entitled “Cooperating for a Resilient Mediterranean”, showcased how Interreg NEXT MED projects are contributing to shared regional priorities and brought together Ministers and institutional representatives, international partners, and project teams from academia, civil society, local authorities and the private sector. It highlighted Lebanon’s active role in Euro‑Mediterranean cooperation.
Jean-Noël Baléo, Regional Director of Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie (AUF) Middle East, presented the EUSEEDS project, which aims to strengthen young people’s digital and entrepreneurial skills in order to enhance their employability.
In a regional context marked by profound economic and technological transformations, EUSEEDS seeks to support 24 universities (5 being located in Lebanon) and their ecosystems in developing training programs aligned with market needs, while fostering innovation and an entrepreneurial mindset among students.
AUF and Forward Mena, Lebanese partner in the EUSEEDS project, also participated in technical training sessions organised on 10–11 February, focusing on essential aspects of project implementation, including financial rules, reporting, procurement procedures and communication obligations, key to aligning project activities with Interreg NEXT MED quality standards and EU requirements.
