The municipality of Ein Al-Basha, located 20 km northwest of Amman, has signed an agreement with Future Pioneers for Empowering Communities (FPEC), Jordanian partner of Gov4GreenMed.

Mayor Khaled Al-Tarawneh welcomed the initiative, highlighting its expected short- and long-term benefits for residents. The project will bring together the municipality, community, and private sector to improve waste management through source separation, reduced landfill use, and increased recycling. It will also strengthen community participation and awareness, while generating data and practical models that can be replicated in other municipalities.

FPEC, a Jordan-based non-profit organization, brings extensive experience in supporting municipalities through community empowerment, capacity building, and environmental initiatives. The organization has implemented and managed sorting and composting systems, strengthened institutional capacities, and led projects in the social, educational, and environmental sectors.

Through this collaboration, Ein Al-Basha aims to enhance its services while connecting with similar initiatives across the region, contributing to knowledge exchange and more sustainable waste management practices in the Mediterranean.
