The MedFireWise Project is pleased to announce a regional workshop organized by our Tunisian partner, INRGREF (National Research Institute for Rural Engineering, Water and Forestry). This event will focus on the integration of Nature-Based Solutions (NbS) into wildfire risk management, with a special emphasis on silvopastoral practices.

As wildfires become an increasingly urgent challenge across the Mediterranean due to climate change, land-use pressures, and ecological vulnerabilities, the workshop will offer a platform for experts, researchers, policymakers, and local stakeholders to exchange knowledge and explore sustainable approaches. Discussions will highlight how land-use planning, ecosystem management, and traditional practices such as silvopastoralism can contribute to effective wildfire prevention and resilient landscapes.
