Catania, Italy – 16–18 February 2026. The EU-funded EONANOBIOPS project showcased its innovative approach to sustainable crop protection at CIMPS Days 2026, participating as a Gold Patronage and reaffirming its commitment to advancing greener agricultural solutions across the Mediterranean.
CIMPS Days is an international scientific conference that brings together researchers and innovation professionals from multidisciplinary fields. The event provided a strategic platform to enhance the visibility of EONANOBIOPS and engage with a highly qualified scientific audience aligned with the project’s priorities.
Through its Gold Patronage participation, the project benefited from:
- Official promotion on the conference website
- A flash oral presentation outlining objectives, methodology, and expected impact
- A dedicated exhibition space to showcase ongoing research activities
During the session, Prof. Serena Riela from the University of Catania, partner of the EONANOBIOPS project, presented the project’s work on developing essential oil–based nano-biopesticides as safer and eco-friendly alternatives to synthetic chemical pesticides, with a particular focus on sustainable tomato cultivation in the Mediterranean region.
The conference enabled direct interaction with researchers, industry representatives, and innovation stakeholders, fostering networking opportunities and cross-sector dialogue. By engaging with the Mediterranean scientific community, EONANOBIOPS strengthened knowledge transfer and further promoted the visibility of Interreg-funded research activities.
EONANOBIOPS aims to combine advanced nanotechnology with nature-based solutions to reduce reliance on synthetic pesticides and promote safer, more sustainable tomato cultivation across the Mediterranean.
