DIEM showcases inclusive Mediterranean Education at Egyptian-French Scientific and Academic Cooperation Day in France

Sapienza University of Rome participated in the activities of the Egyptian – French Scientific and Academic Cooperation Day, a high-level event dedicated to strengthening academic and scientific cooperation between Egypt and France. The initiative was attended by Dr. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research of Egypt, and hosted by CY Cergy Paris University.

During the event, Professor Carlo Bianchini presented the DIEM project, highlighting the project’s objectives and approach, focusing on the development of a multi-level ecosystem for education, capacity building, and long-term legacy in the field of Cultural Heritage across the Euro-Mediterranean area, with particular attention to skills development, inclusion, and transnational cooperation.

Sapienza’s participation and the presentation of the DIEM project contributed to ongoing discussions among universities, public institutions, and international organisations, supporting the definition of shared strategic visions in higher education, research, and cultural heritage.

The event provided an important opportunity for dialogue with institutional and academic partners, confirming the role of universities and European cooperation programmes such as Interreg NEXT MED in promoting innovation, capacity building, and sustainable development in the Mediterranean region.
