The DIEM International Workshop on Cultural Heritage Education and Training, organised by Sapienza University of Rome in collaboration with Fondazione MeNO, was successfully held in Rome on 23 February 2026. The event represented a key milestone within the DIEM project, fostering dialogue between academia, public administrations, cultural institutions, and private-sector stakeholders.
The workshop brought together representatives from Galleria Borghese, Comune di Centola, Comune di Fiumefreddo Bruzio, Fondazione CHANGES, Roma Capitale, Human Foundation, Università della Calabria, Università di Camerino, Scuola Nazionale Patrimonio Attività Culturali, Janus s.r.l., and the Parco Archeologico Villa di Tiberio e Museo archeologico Nazionale, creating a highly interdisciplinary and multi-level exchange.
Participants engaged in three thematic working sessions focusing on existing skills gaps in the Cultural Heritage sector, the limits and potential of complementary and practice-oriented training pathways, and the role of micro-credentials and shared standards in supporting lifelong learning.
The discussions highlighted common challenges across institutions as well as converging priorities for future training models, contributing to the shaping of the DIEM transnational training system and laying the groundwork for future institutional cooperation and Memoranda of Understanding.
