CAREMED: Lebanese University Partner Strengthens Engagement at Interreg NEXT MED Launch Event in Lebanon

Lebanese University participates in the Interreg NEXT MED launch event, boosting its capacity for resilient and sustainable Mediterranean health initiatives.

Representatives of the Lebanese University, partner in the CAREMED – Community-based Approach for Resilient Mediterranean Health project, took part in the Interreg NEXT MED launch event for newly approved projects in Lebanon, held on 10 February 2026 at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Beirut Verdun.

The event, titled “Cooperating for a Resilient Mediterranean”, showcased how Interreg NEXT MED projects are contributing to shared regional priorities and brought together institutional representatives, international partners, and project teams from academia, civil society, local authorities and the private sector. It highlighted Lebanon’s active role in Euro‑Mediterranean cooperation. 

Lebanese University delegates also participated in technical training sessions organised on 10–11 February, focusing on essential aspects of project implementation including financial rules, reporting, procurement procedures and communication obligations, key to aligning project activities with Interreg NEXT MED quality standards and EU requirements. 

The participation of the Lebanese University reflected its active engagement in Euro-Mediterranean transnational cooperation and its commitment to advancing innovation, sustainability, and inclusive development across the region.

Through this engagement, Lebanese University strengthened its capacity to implement CAREMED effectively, contributing to the programme’s mission of fostering innovation, sustainability and inclusive development across the Mediterranean region.
