The Union for the Mediterranean (UfM) has launched a Call for Applications for the Med Youth Lab 2024, a skill-building event co-organized by the UfM and the Euro-Mediterranean University of Fes (UEMF) with the support of the German Development Cooperation and in partnership with the Anna Lindh Foundation (ALF) and the European Institute of the Mediterranean (IEMed). The event will take place from November 25-29, 2024, in Fes, Morocco.

The UfM Med Youth Lab aims to train 60 young people, aged 18-29, from all UfM Member States in project development and soft skills. Participants will be divided into three thematic clusters: Green Skills, Youth Mobility for Educational and Professional Exchange, and Youth Engagement in Multistakeholder Dialogue. Over 5 days, teams will develop project proposals which will be pitched to UfM stakeholders on the final day.

Eligibility criteria to apply to the Call:

  • Aged between 18 and 29.
  • National of a UfM Member State.
  • Valid travel document.
  • Available for the entire duration of the event (25-29 November 2024).
  • Intermediate level of English (B2).
  • Relevant knowledge or experience in one of the thematic clusters.
  • Not having participated in the 3rd edition of the Mediterranean Youth Academy (MYA) in 2023 in Barcelona.

Participation to the UfM Med Youth Lab is free of charge. However, only up to 45 participants from eligible countries will receive the full coverage of all the costs related to the participation in the initiative, including travel arrangement, accommodation, and visa fees. Participants eligible for the full coverage of costs must hold the nationality of one of the following UfM Member States: Albania, Algeria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Libya, Mauritania, Montenegro, Morocco, North Macedonia, Palestine, Tunisia, and Türkiye. Interested candidates must complete the online application form by August 11, 2024, at 23:59h (CEST). A maximum of 300 applications will be evaluated. Required documents include a copy of a travel document and a presentation video (max. 3 minutes).
