On 23 March, the CDE Petra Patrimonia cooperative, lead partner of the MERAVIGLIA project, took part in a dedicated session on the contribution of the Interreg NEXT MED programme to employment policies in the Mediterranean.
During this session, the team presented:
- the results of the RESMYLE project (supported by ENI CBC MED until October 2023),
- the objectives of MERAVIGLIA, focusing on the development of green skills and the creation of micro-enterprises in the environmental sector
The discussions highlighted the importance of supporting the emergence of green jobs, particularly for young people, to address shared environmental challenges across the Mediterranean Basin.
The event gathered a wide range of stakeholders, including:
- representatives from Ministries of Employment of Union for the Mediterranean countries,
- the European Commission,
- training organisations,
- and social partners such as Euro-Mediterranean trade union and employer networks.
On 24 March, participants took part in a series of inspiring field visits in Valencia focused on social inclusion and access to employment.
These visits showcased concrete initiatives supporting young people who are furthest from the labour market, with a strong emphasis on training and professional integration
Special recognition goes to the organisations:
- Jovesolides
- Iniciatives Solidàries
- Fundación Adsis
for their committed and impactful work in promoting youth inclusion.
The MERAVIGLIA team warmly thanks Joumana Sweiss, Vincent Ernoux and the entire Interreg NEXT MED programme team for this opportunity to contribute to such meaningful exchanges.
