As part of SIMMER project, the Lebanon Reforestation Initiative (LRI), in partnership with the Civil Defense, is organizing an introductory workshop titled “Towards Resilient Forest Fire Management in the Mediterranean Region: Updating Policies and Legal Frameworks.” Held on Friday, March 27, 2026, at the Civil Defense Headquarters, the workshop brings together experts and stakeholders from scientific, legal, and operational fields to exchange insights and strengthen collaboration. The agenda includes keynote remarks, a project overview, and interactive discussions aimed at enhancing policy frameworks and improving forest fire resilience across the region. Following this launch, each project partner will organize national workshops with their respective stakeholders to gather insights, data, and contextual perspectives. These contributions will then be brought together in a seventh joint workshop, where all partners will collaboratively consolidate findings and analyze the collected information, leading to the development of a comprehensive GAP analysis report.
