The INNOVATILE project has reached a decisive milestone in its journey toward sustainable ceramic manufacturing. Kaleseramik, the project’s key industrial partner based in Türkiye, has opened an international tender for the acquisition of advanced machinery essential for the implementation of the project’s pilot scale-up.

Following the successful laboratory-scale research led by the Universitat Jaume I in Spain, the project is now moving into the industrial validation phase. This tender covers the supply of specialized equipment designed to implement the semi-wet manufacturing process at a larger scale. This technology is fundamental to achieving the project’s core goal: producing high-quality porcelain tiles and slabs while significantly reducing energy consumption and CO2 emissions.

Tender Key Information
The procurement process is conducted under the strict transparency and competition rules of the Interreg NEXT MED Programme and the European Union’s external action guidelines.

  • Contracting Authority: Kaleseramik Çanakkale Kalebodur Seramik Sanayi A.Ş. (Türkiye).
  • Purpose: Supply and installation of pilot-scale manufacturing equipment for innovative ceramic compositions.
  • Location of delivery: Çanakkale, Türkiye.
  • Funding: Co-funded by the European Union under the Interreg NEXT MED Programme.

The equipment acquired through this tender will enable the consortium to test the HypocarbonTileTech innovations in a real production environment. By using secondary raw materials and optimized thermal processes at an industrial volume, Kaleseramik and the INNOVATILE partners will demonstrate that eco-efficiency is both technically possible and economically profitable for the Mediterranean industry.
