As part of the DIEM – Developing Inclusive Education in the Mediterranean project, ANIMED (PP4) organized two online workshops on February 26 and March 12, 2026, bringing together academics, institutional representatives, training centers, researchers, teachers, and heritage professionals.
These sessions gathered key stakeholders from Tunisia’s Cultural Heritage sector, including the Ministry of Cultural Affairs of Tunisia, the National Heritage Institute (INP), Agency for the development heritage and cultural promotion (AMVPPC) as well as academic institutions such as the University of Manouba, the Higher Institute of Fine Arts of Tunis (ISBAT), and the Higher Institute of Heritage Professions of Tunis (ISMPT).
The first workshop provided a platform for discussion on skills development challenges, with a focus on training needs, employability perspectives, and the integration of DIEM modules into existing academic and training programs.
Building on these outcomes, the second workshop focused on defining training priorities and identifying the key competencies to be strengthened, particularly managerial, strategic, and behavioral skills, in order to better respond to the needs of the sector.
Together, these activities lay the groundwork for the development of DIEM training modules, which will be practical, inclusive, and tailored to different target groups, while closely reflecting the realities of the Cultural Heritage sector in Tunisia.
