The Lebanese University, partner in WISEMED – Mediterranean joint Water management and conservation Sustainable solutions, actively participated in the Interreg NEXT MED launch event in Lebanon held on 10 February 2026. This engagement marked an important step in strengthening the Lebanese University’s operational readiness and reaffirmed its commitment to advancing sustainable water management and regional cooperation across the Mediterranean.
During the event, Lebanese University representatives joined intensive technical training sessions focused on the core dimensions of project implementation. The sessions addressed financial management, procurement rules, reporting procedures, communication and visibility obligations, and the use of monitoring tools, providing practical guidance to ensure transparent, efficient and compliant project execution. These activities reinforced the team’s capacity to deliver WISEMED in line with programme standards and EU requirements.
By consolidating its technical expertise and strengthening collaboration with regional partners, Lebanese University is contributing to the development of innovative and sustainable solutions for water conservation and resource management.
