WISEMED has officially started its activities with the first in-person meetings of its Transnational Committees during the project Kick-off Meeting. This marks an important step in making sure all partners across the Mediterranean work together effectively and share responsibilities from the very beginning.

Working Together on Technical Solutions

During the Transnational Technical Committee meeting, partners exchanged experiences and ideas about water-saving solutions and alternative water sources. They discussed how to measure progress and impacts, and agreed on how to share results throughout the project.

Linking Practice to Policy

The Transnational Policy Committee explored how water management works in each country and started mapping shared approaches. Partners also discussed ongoing initiatives and investments to make sure WISEMED activities support local and regional water policies.

Communicating Results Clearly

The Transnational Communication Committee focused on spreading the word about the project. Partners presented the Communication Plan and the Inception Video, discussed events, branding rules, and eco-friendly communication activities. A new networking platform will also help WISEMED connect with other water projects across the Mediterranean.

Guiding the Project Forward

The Transnational Steering Committee reviewed the work plan, clarified roles, and set up monitoring tools to track progress. They also discussed risk management, stakeholder involvement, and how decisions will be made throughout the project.

A Solid Start for WISEMED

By bringing all committees together from the very start, WISEMED has created a transparent, well-organized, and collaborative governance structure. This ensures the project can deliver practical solutions for sustainable water management across the Mediterranean, in line with the goals of the Interreg NEXT MED Programme, while fostering strong transnational cooperation among all partners.
