The CERES project (Centers of Excellence for Resilient Entrepreneurship and Sustainable Solutions) will be presented at S-Access 2026, the 6th International Conference on Solar Technologies and Hybrid Mini-Grids for Energy Access, which will take place from 8 to 10 April 2026 in Mallorca (Spain), hosted by the University of the Balearic Islands (UIB).
CERES is co-financed by the European Union through the Interreg NEXT MED Programme and aims to strengthen innovation capacity, resilient entrepreneurship and sustainable solutions across the Mediterranean region through the creation and consolidation of Centers of Excellence.
S-Access is a well-established international conference bringing together researchers, technology providers, practitioners, policymakers, development agencies and financial institutions working on decentralised renewable energy systems. The conference focuses on solar technologies, hybrid energy systems, mini-grids and off-grid solutions, addressing both technological innovation and enabling frameworks for improving energy access and resilience.
The conference programme combines keynote speeches, technical sessions, workshops and networking activities, covering a wide range of topics such as photovoltaic and hybrid systems, energy storage, digitalisation of energy infrastructures, innovative business models, financing mechanisms and policy frameworks. S-Access provides a multidisciplinary platform where research outcomes, real-life applications and policy perspectives are brought together.
Within this international context, the presentation of the CERES project will highlight its objectives, structure and expected impact, with a particular focus on the role of Centers of Excellence as drivers of knowledge transfer, innovation and entrepreneurship in the Mediterranean area. The project’s contribution to fostering cooperation between research organisations, businesses and public authorities will also be showcased.
In parallel with the conference, the CERES partnership will hold its 1st Project Meeting (7–8 April 2026) in Mallorca, dedicated to coordination, technical alignment and planning of upcoming project activities, including dissemination and communication actions.
