AI is taking over, and so are you!

Health systems across the Mediterranean continue to face challenges when responding to crises, from natural hazards to public health emergencies. More often than not, these systems are not adequately prepared for these emergencies. unstable infrastructure, delays in coordination and lack of timely information often put communities at risk.

To help address these gaps, MEDAIGENCY, co-funded by the EU under the Interreg NEXT MED Programme, is a transnational initiative implemented in Lebanon, Palestine, Türkiye, Italy, and Spain, and is working to develop and adapt AI solutions that reinforce health system resilience during emergencies.

What is the AI4PURPOSE Transnational Hackathon?

As part of MEDAIGENCY’s needs-assessment and technology-matchmaking activities, each partner country is hosting a local hackathon to identify promising ideas that can be adapted and scaled across the region. The hackathons are organized by project partners in Lebanon, Italy, Palestine and Türkiye, bringing together students and technology providers to explore how AI can help health systems better prepare for, respond to, and recover from crises.

AI4Purpose Hackathon is an opportunity to:

• Develop transnational AI interventions tailored to real emergency system needs.
• Collaborate with stakeholders across 5 partner countries.
• Compete for an opportunity to co-develop one of MEDAIGENCY’s AI-powered solutions.
