The Programme is pleased to confirm its participation in this key event, reaffirming its commitment to building a sustainable Mediterranean Blue Economy.
For the third edition of the Sun&Blue Congress, which will take place in Almería on 19–20 November 2025, Interreg NEXT MED will organize two main activities:
- A side event “Interreg projects in Blue Economy: present and future”, showcasing good practices in blue economy promoted by Interreg programmes, with high potential for scalability and/or replicability in the Mediterranean and other EU regions.
- A first ever Blue Innovation Challenge where up to 50 students from the region of Andalucia will compete to pitch their project ideas in front of a Mediterranean panel of experts. Project ideas will be compatible with Interreg usual typology of projects. The challenge is implemented in partnership with by the University of Almería and Almería City Council.
Both activities are co-organized with the Interreg Euro-MED Programme under the framework of the Interreg Mediterranean Multiprogramme Mechanism.
In addition, the Programme will take part in the side event “Blue Tourism Indicators: Sailing towards common approaches” organized by the WESTMED maritime initiative.
