DESCRIPTION:  \n  \n \nThe Arab Academy for Science\, Technology and Maritime Transport (AASTMT) and the Port Training Institute (PTI) are proud to announce the inaugural workshop of the Egyptian Local Green Port Hub (LGPH). This strategic event\, held under the framework of the GREENMEDPORTS project will take place on Wednesday\, April 29\, 2026\, in Alexandria.\nAs the maritime industry faces increasing pressure to decarbonize\, the Egyptian LGPH serves as a national platform to unite port authorities\, shipping operators\, and environmental experts. This workshop is designed to bridge the gap between international standards and local operational realities\, ensuring Egyptian ports remain competitive and sustainable in the global market. \n  \nWorkshop Objectives: \nThe workshop will address the following strategic tasks: \n\nTransnational Cooperation: Presentation of the Trans National Cooperation Communities (TNCCs) and Mediterranean cooperation structures.\nTechnical Framework: Deep-dive into Carbon Footprint calculation methodologies and alternative fuel pathways (LNG\, Hydrogen\, Methanol).\nSmart Port Innovation: Scoping IoT and AI digital infrastructure required for Egyptian “Smart Green Ports.”\nCo-Design & Validation: Stakeholder consultation for the upcoming Carbon Footprint Platform (CFP) and the “Green Label” incentive schemes.\nRoadmap Development: Identifying challenges and action plans for achieving 2050 Carbon Neutrality.\n\nStakeholder Requirements: \nParticipants should represent the following sectors within the Egyptian maritime ecosystem: \n\nNational Port Authorities and regulatory bodies.\nTerminal operators and shipping lines.\nMaritime technology and energy experts.\nEnvironmental consultants specialized in EU territorial cooperation programs.\nDeadline for Registration: 28/04/2026.\nLocation: Alexandria – Egypt (AASTMT Abu Kir Campus\, College of Pharmacy\, 5th Floor\, Room 507).
