The CAREMED project, together with other beneficiaries of the First Call for Proposals under the Interreg NEXT MED Mediterranean Sea Basin Programme, recently participated in two National Training Days, designed to provide comprehensive guidance and capacity-building for all partners.
The first event took place in İzmir, Türkiye, on December 4, organized by the Directorate for EU Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Türkiye. Türkiye is participating for the first time in the programme with 32 organizations involved in 29 approved projects across 12 provinces.
The İzmir Provincial Health Directorate joined the training representing CAREMED, and notably is the only provincial health directorate participating in a health-sector project within the Programme.
The training in İzmir covered a wide range of topics, including project introduction, implementation processes, monitoring and indicators, project amendments, and communication and social media rules. Participants also received guidance on financial management, including expenditure rules, reporting and control procedures, procurement, and taxes. These sessions provided a strong foundation for compliant and effective project implementation.
The training in İzmir provided an overview of the main Programme rules and procedures, covering project implementation, monitoring, communication requirements, and key aspects of financial management. The sessions supported partners in building a shared understanding of the Programme framework, laying the groundwork for effective and compliant project implementation.
A second National Training Day was held on Thursday, December 18, 2025, in Rome, Italy, for Italian partners. Hosted at the Lazio Region offices, the event offered Italian beneficiaries the same comprehensive training as their Turkish counterparts. The agenda included Italy’s participation in the Programme, the national control system for beneficiaries, financial rules and eligible costs, reporting procedures, and communication and visibility requirements.
By providing aligned training for both Türkiye and Italian partners, these National Training Days ensured that all CAREMED partners are equipped with the knowledge and tools needed to implement their projects effectively and in full compliance with Programme rules, supporting the shared goals of #MADE4MADE.
The Managing Authority is planning additional National Training Days for all partner countries of the Interreg NEXT MED Programme, which means that other CAREMED partners will soon have the opportunity to participate in the same comprehensive training.
